First built in 1927 by Kenyon Painter, an American coffee farmer, The Arusha Hotel has been home to many travelers on their journey from Cape to Cairo. The Arusha Hotel, formerly known as the New Arusha Hotel, having recently undergone an extensive renovation and refurbishment program is now considered a five star hotel.

Because all Northern Tanzania Safaris and tours for Serengeti, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro, Tarangire and Mount Kilimanjaro climb start from Arusha, Arusha Coffee Lodge can be requested as your preferred safari accommodation on your first night in Africa.

Accommodation
The Arusha has 65 rooms including 2 suites, 6 deluxe rooms, 34 executive rooms and 23 twins - all elegantly furnished with en suite bathrooms equipped with related amenities and tea and coffee making facilities for the early risers.  Each room is fitted with satellite television, hair dryer and an electronic safe large enough to fit the average size laptops.  For the business traveler, all rooms have direct dial phones and Internet access.

Other services at the hotel include shoeshine, baby-sitting, 24-hour room service and laundry.

Dining & Cuisine

Buffet style breakfast and dinners with appetizing contemporary modern cuisine is prepared from the freshest produces, flavored and garnished using only the highest quality. Take an aromatic tour and experience the divine a la carte menu marvelously displayed, showing the chefs innovative culinary talent, and the wine list tempts even the most jaded palate.

The dining experience would be incomplete without aromatic coffees, mouth watering home made desserts followed by warm cognacs and brandy's in 'Hataris' Tavern (named after John Wayne's movie made in 1962) with a large television screen to watch the latest sporting events and news made complete with the relaxed informal and comfortable surroundings.
